Bad Eggs

These snapshots may contain SPOILERS for the entire series, so if for some reason you haven't yet seen some of the episodes and do not want to know what is going on, read no further.

----------------------------recap----------------------------
The students are given eggs to look after, to teach them about the responsibilities of parenthood. Between trying to protect her egg and dealing with the vampire brothers Lyle and Tector Gorch, Buffy doesn't notice that her egg is about to hatch.
--------------------------end recap--------------------------

Buffy: Did Mr. Whitmore notice I was tardy?
Xander: I think the word you're searching for is absent.

Some character development, average dialogue and a poor plot.

Seems like the writers were absent when they handed out good scripts as well.

The episode's MOTW has an Invasion of the Body Snatchers and Alien feel to it.

Foreshadowing
Buffy: I'm a single mother?
Xander: No man of her own.
Buffy: Do you know what this says about me? That I am doomed to lead my mother's life! How deeply scary is that?
- Season 5 and on.

Buffy: Oh, I told you, that faux parenting gig we're doing at school. Like I'm really planning to have kids anytime soon.
Angel: I wouldn't know. I don't... Well, you know, I, I can't.
  - Not totally true, at least for Angel.

My views/status of characters;
Buffy - like
Willow - like
Xander - like
Giles - like
Cordelia - like
Spike - absent
Angel - neutral
Oz - absent

Overall I consider this a very poor episode compared to the rest of the season.
